Leg much better
Weight 337.4. Yeah, same story. I'm either going to get more disciplined for simply say fuck it and gain weight again. But the good news is leg is much better. Was sore for a few days after that Big Ridge hike. Able to do a little calisthenic routine. 30 half squats, 30 bend overs, 30 push ups, 30 jumping jacks, 30 bench motions(no weight), 20 side twists. Some cleaning and movement. 20 minutes or so.

Friday 12th: 5048 steps on my walk today.. 45 minutes, around 2.2 miles. Yeah I boughts me a pedometer. Seems fairly accurate.
This summer is all about losing 20 pounds, getting my mile time down to 16 minutes and building up to those 10,000 steps per workout. Also, eating less, and reducing alcohol. May try to add in some weightlifting if and when Covid winds down. Some gyms are open around here, but I'm not risking that shit right now. Gyms are microbe/virus factories...

Lighter drinking day/time for one road mile.
Shook things up a little today. Yesterday I ate Taco Bell, and cooked Chicken Mole. Woke up to 337.4. After my walk and nibbling on chicken, 335.8. Must do a full week of strict dieting. 1600 calories. So a light drinking day is a must. Fast walked a flat road mile in 21 minutes. That's remarkably horrible, but there's only one direction to go. I needed a little self-competition thing. So, the goal will be to get that walk/jog mile down to 15-16 minutes by end of August. Would really like to be around 325 or less at that time as well. Right knee a little sore. Hope it holds up. Looking to test my road mile thing about every week or so.

337.6 weight today. 2 days ago I did a good fast walk, 45 minutes. Today I woke up with a slight soreness under my kneecap. Hopefully it's short-lived, and not like my last 3 week episode of knee swelling/pain. No exercise today, just in case. Bought some meal replacement bars. I'm thinking those might help my diet. I'm still struggling to get the diet under 2000 calories per day. Lost 3 pounds, but I really need a 2 week, keto diet esque jump start. Having gone up and down so often with diets, this should be obvious by now.

Rivermont walk..
Tennis slowly opening back up. Little League, No! What do you own the world?? Just kidding. 30 minute walk. 336.6 after exercise and meal. I can reasonably conclude 2-3 pounds actually lost. Time to dig in, you food addicted motherfucker. (No, I never fucked my poor mother...).

Just a Walk in the Park
Back to greenway, 45 minutes on the flat dirt loop along Chickamauga Creek. Walked fast at first, at least fast for me currently at my weight and fitness level. I've walked/jogged the same loop in under 35 minutes in the past. Had pretty bad foot cramps and numbness on the second half of the route. Had to slow the pace. Woke up to 337.6, after exercise and small meal, 336.4. Not sure if any weight loss is real or just water weight at this point. If I'm not showing 335 or less in a few weeks, I'll know for sure. Calories still a struggle, but I'm managing. Up the ante soon, I guess. Reduce salt intake as well. I'm noticing patterns of inflammation when my sodium intake is excessive. "til next time...

Buddha Calm Hands
Drinking night. Rainy night. Power outage night. Spilled my wine night while overly excited doing a new photography project. Decided to scan a ton of old hiking photos with my cell phone. No steady stick, just using my Buddha calm hands. Did an indoor, walking and calisthenics workout. 25 minutes. I wish I could afford a treadmill. Would wreck my savings though to buy a decent one. Keeping chill on the food intake tonight. Hungry as fuck as I deepen the buzz. Tomorrow will be a hangover/rest day. weighed 338 first thing when I woke today. Need to see a significant drop soon. Trying to balance alcohol intake with a low carb diet is tough. I did it last year though, so I know it's possible at least.

A New Newer Newest Beginning...
I'm currently sitting at the heaviest weight I've ever allowed myself to go. I'm 51, and time isn't on my side. Last year I went on a good diet and dropped 30 pounds and got ever so close to dipping back under 300. Now I've gained all that back. Started a diet 2 weeks ago, but still struggling with my food addiction. I have managed to knock off a couple of pounds. This blog is here to chronicle my journey(yeah, corny word) back to some semblance of fitness and health. Hopefully this time next year I'm sitting around the 260-270 mark, a good 60 pound drop. Fitness goals are simple: I want to run a 10k, a half-marathon, do long trail running/hiking sessions, and maybe a marathon after that. I used to be a powerlifter, and while I miss that addiction to strength, I don't believe I'll get back into that sport. But who knows. I keep shit open.
Today I walk/jogged at Greenway park, which is alongside a ridge, with plenty of hills. around 2 miles in 52 minutes. Weight when I woke up was 338, after exercise and small dinner, 336.
